Christians, are we to 'express ourselves'...........?

I most certainly do believe that some people are given the "gift" or maybe the "talent" to sing for God's glory. But I also know that it must be done as led by the Spirit of God, and for the glory of God; not just any way that we choose to do so, or just any place that we choose to do so. I hear some people sing wonderfully, but they are usually doing so because God leads them to do so. As a matter of fact, my daughter is one of them. But she only sings to glorify God. She does enjoy singing, but she don't just do it so that she can say that she sung. God has to have a part in it all. We must make certain that we are led by God in anything that we choose to do for Him; not just because we want to do it. And there may be times when the Spirit of God leads a person to dance, as David did. But it must truly be because God tells us to do so; not just because we like to dance. Even though we are not saved by the Old Testament laws any longer, but by the blood of Jesus, I do believe that God expects us to learn from many of the experiences that we are told of in the Old Testament. This is the best answer that I know to give.
