Sounds promising; I'd keep trying. That said: you can't "get" him if he doesn't want to be "got". Just give him the opportunity and show your interest, he'll do the rest. Another thing to watch for is the rebound thing; if he just broke up with someone, he may not be ready for someone new yet...
