What is going on?

We have been TTC #1 for a month. Last month, we had on my ovulation day (cos I counted and saw some EWCM) My temps shot up after that, sore , 1 or 2 episodes of nausea and about 7dpo I had a sharp pain in my abdomen and thereafter cramps. Now AF started (was really upset though) but now I am having metal taste in my mouth.... Is this not a pregnancy sign? But how can this be? I still have the twinges in my s with AF.... I am puzzled.....
